Awards & Scholarships
All awards and scholarships are given out at the annual fall training institute. The application and nomination forms are due approximately two months prior to that date. Application and Nomination forms are mailed to members during the summer in the conference packet and are posted on the NECCD website around that same time.
Bruce Campbell Scholarship Award
- The applicant must be a NECCD member, for at least the past two years, or a member of the immediate family.
- The member’s annual membership dues must be paid prior to the application deadline.
- The applicant must be an undergraduate student matriculating in a recognized institution of higher learning with a degree path.
- The scholarship is for a maximum of $4,000.00.

John R. Manson – Carl Robinson Award
This award honors an individual who has truly made a significant contribution to the field of Criminal Justice within the New England area. The award is named for two outstanding New England professionals:
- John R. Manson served the State of Connecticut as Commissioner of Corrections until his death in 1983. He had a long and distinguished career and was credited with initiating major reforms in the State’s prison system.
- Carl Robinson was also a pioneer in prison reform in the State of Connecticut where he served as Warden of Somers State Prison. In 1982 he was honored by the A.C.A. as the “National Warden of the Year”.

Angelo R. Musto Award
Angelo R. Musto was a driving force in the continuing development of the New England Council on Crime and Delinquency. He was the President in 1974 and the General Chairman of the joint 1984 NECCD/APPA convention. Due in part to his many efforts, this organization enjoys its present stability.
This award honors a current or retired member of the NECCD who has made an outstanding contribution to our organization.
